Awarded Setting: Mara Nursery
Mara Nursery is committed to training all of its staff on the importance of First Aid, offering refresher courses and specific training events on choking or safe sleeping.
We strive to ensure that all our Staff are aware of all the latest changes when it comes to the EYFS and all aspects of Early Years so when it came to applying for our Millie’s Mark Award the majority of our Staff were already fully qualified in Paediatric First Aid.
However, we now ensure that all of our staff complete refresher training in Paediatric First Aid and complete regular surveys & quizzes so we can highlight what areas need most attention.
The staff love upskilling their knowledge and understanding, growing in confidence if their first aid skills were needed at any time, even the most knowledgeable of people begin to become a little rusty!
As our Nursery is still growing we have taken on new staff who are now required to complete the 12 hour Paediatric First Aid course within their first 3 months of employment.
We are lucky to also have a beautiful, spacious events space at our Nursery so we can hold regular Paediatric First Aid Courses for our team and others at our setting.
Staff at Mara Nursery feel very confident and have clarity on what to do if an emergency arises in or out of the workplace, in turn our Parents feel comfortable in leaving their children each day with the staff.
Our children’s safety is of the utmost importance at Mara Nursery and we are incredibly proud of achieving and upholding our Millie’s Mark Award.
